Seinfeld schools Jon Stewart

Jerry Seinfeld comes on 'The Daily Show' to help the host with a comedy dilemma.

The initials of the day were J.S.

That's because last night gave us the comedy summit of Jerry Seinfeld and Jon Stewart.

On The Daily Show, the political satirist was struggling mightily with his impulse to skewer Marcus Bachmann, husband of presidential candidate Michelle. The dilemma: Bachmann runs a Christian counseling service which employs the controversial method of "reparative therapy" to convert homosexuals to heterosexuality.

Yet Stewart had all these clips that made Bachmann look and sound curiously ambiguous. In the bit, Stewart is trying to restrain himself from making the obvious and easy jokes in this situation.

On comes his "comedy repression therapist" (Seinfeld) to help broaden his perspective and find humor that doesn't seem so overt. And also to slap some sense into him. (see video, below) Seinfeld for instance points out that Bachmann's name is mockable ("What is he, a classical music superhero?").

These guys are funny together . They should work up an act and take it on the road.
