Kate Gosselin is looking for love – aggressively

Kate "The Grate" Gosselin was on Today this morning, promoting the new season of Kate Plus 8 which begins on TLC tonight.

Ann Curry asked about her love life. Kate said she was hot to trot but there were obstacles -- her busy schedule, her tabloid fame and, oh yeah, her eight children. That's got to make for a noisy date.

"I'm definitely ready to start dating," she said. "There are a lot of obstacles for me. The odds of me bumping into someone are rare."

Judging by footage from this season, it's not that rare at all. In this episode (see clip, below) shot at the D.C. hotspot Georgetown Cupcake, you'll see Kate aggressively on the prowl.

It's unbelievable. She's shooting a TV show when she spots a guy all the way across a crowded M Street. Like most predators, her eyesight is uncanny. With the cameras rolling, she quickly concocts a scheme, sending a producer out on the street to waylay the guy so she can come out of the store and bait him with a cupcake. Wouldn't you know it? He doesn't eat gluten.

There's a funny moment at the end where it's obvious the guy has no idea who was just hitting on him so hard.

On Today, Kate said she has a plan to send a friend out to identify and approach likely romantic partners for Kate. In most states, that's considered procuring.
