Howard Stern on ‘America’s Got Talent'?

POSTED: Tuesday, November 15, 2011, 11:04 AM

Show business has become a game of musical chairs lately. Who is going to replace Regis? Who will replace Eddie Murphy at the Oscars? Well, we know the answer to that one. It’s Billy Crystal.

Last night in his monologue David Letterman also declared that Crystal would take the place of Joe Paterno.

Who knew there would be a fuss about who would replace Piers Morgan on America’s Got Talent? An early favorite: Radio rowdy Howard Stern.

The media instigator addressed those rumors on his show this morning. Watch and learn.

The surprising part: how enthusiastic Stern is about this craptastsic program. "I love the show,” he says. “ I think it's the greatest, and I would be certainly honored to sit with Howie and Sharon and judge these lunatics.” Honored? Really?

The part about not commenting on negotiations? I think Stern is just keeping that door open a crack in case the producers of AGT want to throw ridiculous sums of money at him.

My personal opinion? Bring back the Hof.

Shows you how far this moron has fallen. Figured that 80 billion people would follow him to satellite. He got his money, and no one followed. The "King of All Media" is now the King of Dweebs with Sirius - which is hardly "all media". Of course he's gonna come back to national network broadcast - he's been ruling in hell and just realized it's better to serve in heaven where someone will hear you.

heh? there's over 20 million subscribers at Sirius. When he got there, there was less than 1 Million. I guess no one followed him there...

Why are so many philly.com posters fact deficient?

I remember hearing Howard Stern on the radio while I was working on Long Island in 1991 or so.
I remember thinking to myself, "this guy is really not very funny, and having this woman break into hysterical laughter every time he speaks just makes it worse."

lol @Cicero, the true King of Dweebs. You realize his show gets (estimating conservatively) 6 million to (peak estimate) 20 million listeners a day? More than any talk show on any network or cable station in the country?

And since you seem to be jealous of his given moniker, King of All Media, it came about because he's been number one in every form of media there is - radio, tv, movies, and music. Name one other person that has done that. Time's up.

Whether you like him or hate him, you can't deny what he has done and is doing. He's a living legend.

If he takes this gig he'll probably cut his radio show to twice a week. I doubt hook nose would have the energy to commit to a TV show, since he's constantly cut his show and takes multiple vacations as it is. One question for evolutionary, when was he ever number 1 on tv or music?

He had the #1 rated show on E! television for his televised talk show and had the #1 album 'Private Parts' soundtrack the 2nd week of March 1997. For someone who knows so much about him, TomM, you disappoint me. But, yes, the vacations and reduced schedule have become frustrating.

@TomM - his Howard Stern tv show on E! was the top-rated cable program during its run, while his Saturday night show was number one several times, trumping SNL.

His Private Parts movie soundtrack was number one as well.

Forgot to mention he was a two-time number 1 author too.

Agree that him committing to the show would impact his already paltry schedule, so I'm really hoping he declines. 3 shows a week is already almost the breaking point for me, but thankfully the rest of SiriusXM is strong.
