Bizarre elimination on ‘The X Factor’

Youth is served, despite acting like a baby

The death knell on any singing contest judged by the all-powerful Simon Cowell? When he calls you "a cabaret act."

So it went last night, when Stacy Francis, 42, was bounced from The X Factor in a spectacularly strange elimination ceremony.

It all came down to Francis and 15-year-old hip-hop prodigy Astro, your bottom two. Astro clearly resented finding himself at the bottom of the barrel. As is customary, the endangered pair were asked to perform for their survival.

Astro bridled at that request, as you can see in the hissy-fit he throws in this clip.

Pretty arrogant and immature. You can hear the crowd chanting "Stacy. Stacy. Stacy, Stacy" by the time Simon delivers the deciding vote. He casts it, not without reluctance, for Astro.

The plain fact of the matter is that Francis could not overcome her squawky butchery the previous night of Meat Loaf's "It's All Coming Back to Me Now". See the disaster for yourself.

Come on, Stacy. It was "rock night". You do a song that is best known for the Celine Dion version and you're begging to be sent home.
