Another ‘Dancing’ Mishap for Kirstie

You could think of it as a Cinderella moment. Or a second disastrous slip-up on the ballroom floor for Kirstie Alley.

You could think of it as a Cinderella moment. Or a second disastrous slip-up on the ballroom floor for Kirstie Alley.

Last night on Dancing With the Stars, the plus-sized funny lady lost a slipper as she waltzed with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy (see video below). It might not have been so noticeable if it hadn't taken Kirstie, in her Disney Jasmine outfit, so long to reattach the darn thing.

This followed last week's notorious full-out fall, which Maks gallantly attributed to a charlie horse he suddenly developed. This week it was Kirstie who was battling with hip pain. But it was the fateful shoe that undid her.

The judges, somewhat generously, put Kirstie in third place, ahead of a ballet-togged Sugar Ray Leonard and, with the lowest score, Kendra Wilkinson.

Last night's theme was classical music replete with a 46-member orchestra in the Television City studio. Later, in his monologue, Jimmy Kimmel would marvel at the dated music and observe, "It's like they were daring us not to watch."

Chelsea Kane topped the leaderboard with 26 points while dancing to that baroque masterpiece, the Harry Potter soundtrack.

Roll, over Beethoven.
