OK, it’s not as prestigious as hosting the Golden Globes, but still, serving as the Discovery Channel’s Chief Shark Officer during Shark Week is not a job to scoff at.

In this clip (below) Saturday Night Live’s Andy Samberg explains why he was the man best suited to the job. The interview is conducted while a sopping wet Samberg stands in the surf in the Bahamas wearing a suit and tie.

Among the premieres during this year’s fintastic festival which begins on Sunday are Great White Invasion, Rogue Sharks and Jaws Comes Home. Then there’s Shark City during which Samberg dives into shark infested waters.

Way to go for it, Andy. By the way, the previous title for Chief Shark Officer? Bait.
