VIDEO: See Sherri Shepherd’s tearful (and Biblical) goodbye to ‘The View’

With a little misdirection and a lot of tears, the panelists address the rumors about their departures.

Whoopi Goldberg called it “a giant neon pink gorilla in the room” this morning. Would two more of

The View

’s panelists – Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd – be leaving shortly?

Jenny, you're up first. Oh, quick warning: don't believe a word that comes out of her mouth.

You want honesty, you go to Sherri. She gives an emotional, sincere and teary farewell announcement. If I understand it right, her decision was determined by the Bible, the New Testament, which was written when Barbara Walters was a mere slip of a girl.

Compare if you will the two ladies approaches: After wringing applause from the audience, McCarthy uses the opportunity to promote her next project. (In other words: you can't fire me; I quit) and then tries to horn in on Sherri's speech by reaching across and grabbing her hand.) Sherri merely lays her soul bare.

Will you miss them? Both of them? Or will The View be more scenic with their departures?
