You gotta fight for the right...to read election returns

, Urevick-Ackelsberg has been chronicling his campaign to get a password for the password-protected site internet where returns are posted on election night.

earlier this month.

Currently media outlets pay to access returns on the website. The thee city commissioners -- who are in charge of elections -- also provide free passwords to political heavyweights and the well-connected. The general public pretty much has to go look at returns on paper.

After appealing to the city solicitor, Urevick-Ackelsberg was finally granted a password last week.

But he's not stopping there. Now he wants everyone to have the same access. So Urevick-Ackelsberg has teamed up with

to launch a campaign to get as many people as possible to

. His hope is that if the Commissioners are flooded with requests, they may just make the site publicly available.
