Insiders tell us that Barack Obama will cash in during his Philadelphia visit this weekend. The Democratic presidential candidate will hold two fundraisers Friday night -- a cocktail reception at the Sheraton hotel and a more intimate dinner at the home of David L. Cohen.
Tickets for the cocktail reception go for $1,000 or $2,300. But for the dinner supporters are asked to give $10,00 or raise $50,000. All contributions will be made to the Obama Victory Fund, a joint committee of Obama for America and the Democratic National Committee which has higher donation limits than the campaign committee.
Gov. Rendell had set a goal of $1.5 to $2 million for the evening. But we're told that the final tally should be much higher.
After raising dough on Friday night, Obama is expected to hold campaign events in Philadelphia on Saturday.
