Obama coming to Philly to raise money

Barack Obama hasn't campaigned in Philly in months, but he's about to come to town for a very important reason -- fundraising. Invitations are circulating for a cocktail reception and dinner to be held for the Democratic presidential candidate this month.

Because a date has not been set, the invites read: September (TBD), 2008.

The cocktail reception requires a contribution of $2300 or $1000. Sen. Bob Casey, Mayor Nutter and Gov. Rendell are listed as honorary co-chairs of the event and the list of co-chairs and co-hosts is filled with local political heavy hitters. It also shows that dueling factions have come together since the primary. Former Clinton fundraisers Mark Aronchick and are on the list, as are longtime Obama supporters Peter Buttenwieser and Mark Alderman.

There will also be a fundraising dinner at a private home with a heftier price tag. For that event, the invite says you can "write $10,000" or "raise $50,000."

All contributions will be made to the Obama Victory Fund, a joint committee of Obama for America and the Democratic National Committee which has higher donation limits than the campaign committee.
