Nutter names Hope Caldwell chief integrity officer

Mayor Nutter's administration today announced that Hope Caldwell has been named the city's new chief integrity officer, a position Nutter created when he took office.

Caldwell served as deputy to the first chief integrity officer, Joan Markman, who recently stepped down due to health reasons.

A Penn State and Dusquene Law graduate, Caldwell worked in the city Law Department for five years, according to a release. She sits on the Vacant Property Review Committee.

Stephanie Tipton will move from the Procurement Department to fill Caldwell's old role.

Nutter, who campaigned on a reform agenda, created the chief integrity officer position to ensure adminstration business followed ethical and legal guidelines. Markman is a former federal prosecutor who worked on the corruption case that rocked City Hall during John Street's administration.
