Nutter creates Mayor's Office of Immigrant and Multi-Cultural Affairs

Mayor Nutter on Thursday signed an executive order to create the Mayor's Office of Immigrant and Multi-Cultural Affairs, which will serve the city's burgeoning immigrant community. 

The office will start with two staffers, Nutter said: Executive Director Jennifer Rodriguez, with a salary of $100,000; and Deputy Director Fernando Trevino-Martinez, who will make $90,000.

The office's goals are "improving access to city services, engaging community-based organizations, developing economic resources and assisting with educational opportunities," according to a release.
