We just received a poll that looks at how Mayor Nutter would fare against a Democratic primary challenge from former GOP mayoral candidate Sam Katz.
According to the survey from a new operation called Municipoll, Nutter leads Katz 38 to 34 percent, with 28 percent undecided. That result is based on robo-calls to 810 likely Democratic voters and the poll has a 3.4 margin of error. Municipoll President Ed Haggerty said they did not do this poll for any client, but simply to promote their new business.
Katz, who ran two unsuccessful Republican campaigns against former Mayor John Street, has not announced a run for mayor as a Democrat, so such a match up is little more than speculation. At this point in time it's unclear if Nutter will have any primary challengers in next year's election.
The poll also matches Nutter up against some other possible opponents. To review it yourself, check it out here.
