Moving in and around City Hall

With roughly three weeks before City Council's first session members are trying to get their offices in order.

Desks and other furniture still sit outside of some offices on the 4th and 5th floors of City Hall as six new members move-in and others change offices.

"We are a mess," said Councilman Curtis Jones Jr. who's expanding his office. "We're trying to get ready for the first session."

Handwritten notices covered the signs outside of freshmen members' offices which still bear the names of former council members.

Jones said new members needed pens, paper, coat racks, phones and other office essentials. Other members like 8th district Councilwoman Cindy Bass was waiting to have her computer and city email account set-up.

Republican at-large Councilman David Oh was also still settling into his office.

"I'm happy to get it functioning," Oh said. "This should be a smart, logical workspace."
