There's a good story in the City Paper about Nutter retaining Clarena Tolson as Streets Commissioner. Bruce Schimmel reports that many green activists believe she is not committed to improving the city's recycling program.
Nutter responds that he did conduct a national search for the job and that Tolson was the best candidate. He also says that a commissioner needs support from the top office to do the best job.
Still, it appears recycling activists will have their eye on Nutter for a while, to see if he makes good on his promises to make Philadelphia a greener city.
