Joe Biden says PA is key to Democratic victory

John Baer reports that vice president candidate Joe Biden just spoke at the Pennsylvania delegation breakfast at the Democratic Convention in Denver. Before a crowd of more than 400, Biden talked about his Scranton, Pa. roots and stressed the importance of the keystone state in the general election.

“It is not hyperbole. We cannot win without winning Pennsylvania,” Biden said.

Biden, who has served in the Senate for Delaware since 1973, also talked about his long Washington career. He jokingly reflected on the age difference between himself and the 47-year-old presidential candidate Barack Obama .

“By the way if I hear one more time that he was 11 when I went to the Senate, I’m going to smack somebody," Biden said.
