Joe Sestak confirms he can still curse like a sailor

Joe Sestak, the retired U.S. Navy admiral and former Democratic member of the U.S. House from Delaware County, confirmed on MSNBC this morning that he can still curse like a sailor.

Sestak appeared on a news program discussing the impact of the U.S. government shut-down on military members, including the denial of death benefits for the families of those recently killed in action. He recounted a taxi ride earlier in the day, when the driver told him about his experience as a Vietnam veteran.

"When I got in, he recognized me and brought up the topic I was actually about to go on about...the denial of funeral expenses, etc. for those we lost in war due to the shutdown," Sestak emailed us after his appearance. "We kept talking and it was one of the lines he said…and I was just impressed with how he mentioned he had been 'humbled' by the experience of 'seeing a lot of s*** the average American doesn't get to see.' As, and how, he said it, fit who a vet is, perfectly."

Sestak's interview starts at the 3:35 minute mark.  His off-color comment comes at the 8:20 mark. An MSNBC anchor later apologized for letting the word slip by.

Sestak is expected to challenge U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey in 2016.  Toomey beat Sestak for that seat in 2010.
