Hall And Oates Fans For America Super PAC: It's Gone

Everybody's high on consolation.  Everybody's trying tell me what is right for me. But Hall and Oates Fans For America is gone, oh I, oh I, oh I.  I better learn how to face it.

We told you last week about a waiter from Atlanta who was astounded at how easy it is to register a Super PAC, a political action committee able to raise unlimited amounts of money.  William Hansmann and his friends decided to form Hall and Oates Fans for America and use some of the band's music to parody Mitt Romney, who will be named the Republican nominee for president Thursday.

The manager for Hall and Oates just told us the band has been in contact with the Super PAC founders about the "unauthorized use" of the band's name.  Both sides amicably agreed to dissolve the Super PAC, which has not raised any money, band manager Jonathan Wolfson writes in an email.

"Daryl Hall and John Oates recognize that the personal view points of their fans cross all political spectrums and are honored to be supported by their fans everywhere regardless of political affiliation," Wolfson said.
