Green Party candidates Cheri Honkala & Jill Stein found not guilty of trespassing

As we told you in today's Clout column, local housing activist and 2012 Green Party vice presidential candidate Cheri Honkala was due to stand trial Friday morning on trespassing charges after being arrested in August for refusing to leave the regional office in Philadelphia of Fannie Mae.

Court records show Honkala and Dr. Jill Stein, the Green Party's presidential candidate, were found not guilty.  Two men arrested with Honkala and Stein, Jim Moran and John Phillips, were also found not guilty.

The Green Party, with Stein at the top of the ticket, won 464,510 votes after getting on the ballot in 37 states and Washington, D.C. last year. That was 0.36 percent of the vote in the Nov. 6 presidential election.

Honkala, via text message, described the Municipal Court trial as a "long intense day."
