DiCicco Continues Push To Expand Property Tax Freeze

Councilman Frank DiCicco today continued his push for properties that received new valuations in the fall to be included in a citywide freeze on assessments.

Mayor Nutter and the Board of Revision of Taxes announced last week that reassessments would be frozen until the embattled agency is reformed. But that freeze did not include the 18,000 properties that received notices in 2009.

DiCicco today will introduce a resolution asking that the freeze be expanded to include the 2009 reassessments.

"I don't think it's fair that we're putting some people through the anxiety when we've already said it's bad data," DiCicco said.
