Corbett & Toomey dodge backing Romney's Libya comments

Mitt Romney, the Republican nominee for president, is taking some heat today for comments he made about the attacks that killed Christopher Stevens, the U.S. Ambassador to Libya, and a crowd that pulled down the American flag at the American embassy in Cairo Egypt.

Mitt Romney, the Republican nominee for president, is taking some heat today for comments he made about the attacks that killed Christopher Stevens, the U.S. Ambassador to Libya, and a crowd that pulled down the American flag at the American embassy in Cairo Egypt.

Gov. Corbett and U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey held a conference call to tout what they see as the potential for Romney to win Pennsylvania in the Nov. 6 general election.  They were far less eager to talk about Romney's comments on the attack.

"Senator, I'm going to let you take that," Corbett said after a reporter asked them to respond to what Romney had to say.

Toomey, saying he has had "a very intense," also didn't want to respond.

"I have not seen the exact script of Gov. Romney's comments so I don't have an opinion on that," Toomey said.
