City To Declare Snow Emergency Tonight

With the current winter storm growing worse, Mayor Nutter just announced that the city will declare a snow emergency at 7 p.m. tonight.

That means people will have to move their cars from streets designated as emergency routes. For a list of those streets go to:

Nutter -- who held the press conference outside City Hall in the snow -- said another six inches of snow are expected. City crews have been out salting the streets since yesterday. Nutter said that 450 trucks and 700 personnel will be out tonight to fight the storm.

Trash pickup for tomorrow and Friday will be delayed by one day. The city's 3-1-1 call line will stay open through the night for any questions.
