City Councilwoman: It's inappropriate to comment on federal investigation

When City Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown's ex-campaign manager pleaded guilty to wire fraud last Thursday, she slid out of Council chambers.

Her former campaign manager, John McDaniel is accused of stealing $100,000 from Reynolds Brown's political-action committee and faces 15 to 21 months in federal prison.

Here's what Reynolds Brown had to say once reporters caught up with her today:

"I will not be commenting on any outside federal investigation now. It's inappropriate. It's improper," she said. "The message I had last week is the message I have today and the message I'll have tomorrow."

Reynolds Brown made headlines two weeks ago when the Board of Ethics announced she admitted to a number of campaign finance violations which included using campaign dollars to repay a $3,300 loan made to Chaka "Chip" Fattah Jr. Brown agreed to pay a $48,834 fine.
