Demand the Mayor stop trying to balance the budget on the backs of the poor

Members of the citywide community group Action United today will gather to demand that the Mayor stop trying to balance the budget by cutting programs that help poor communities, like the Community Land Care Program. Earlier this year, the Mayor proposed a flat $300 fee on homeowners for garbage collection. "The Mayor needs to come up with better solutions and stop targeting our communities," said Action United Leader Carol Henry.

Where: 30th and Gordon Street in North Philly, in front of a vacant lot that will not be maintained if the Community Land Care program is not funded
