W. Wilson Goode Jr.

City Councilman W. Wilson Goode Jr., apparently reacting to our reporting this week about Council not meeting today because Monday was Presidents Day, wants his Twitter followers to know that he and his colleagues are working hard despite the down time.  Here's a tweet he put up yesterday:

"The 9 members of City Council's Rules Committee (a majority of Council) approved four bills today. Hey, I thought we were on vacation! :)"

An emoticon from Goode?  We never saw that coming.  Goode probably won't care for today's Daily News editorial.

"The meetings are just one measure of Council's productivity - constituent work is another, for example - and the quantity of meetings is not as important as the quality. "
Goode, show us the QUANITY of the four bills, before patting yourself on the back!!!!

Porking your assistant at home isn't work...although after seeing her on TV, maybe it is.

Can Mr Goode name one of those bills? I don't think the salary he gets can be earned by sending out a tweet, emoticon and all. My 11 yr old grand-nephew can do just as well, and he doesn't make a six-figure salary.

How is that not an open meeting violation?
