Tuesday's DN: Abortion doc says he's victim of racism as trial begins

POSTED: Tuesday, March 19, 2013, 8:52 AM

Kermit Gosnell, the former West Philly abortion doctor charged with eight counts of murder, was portrayed by his defense attorney Monday as the victim of a "prosecutorial lynching" by an "elitist, racist prosecution."

The family of Kathleen McEwan, who was violently killed while under the care of the nonprofit Resources for Human Development, is suing the organization.

And it could be none and done for the Sixer that wasn't, Andrew Bynum. He's getting knee surgery Tuesday.

Gosnell didn't say anything. His attorney did. Another of the increasing misleading headlines that this rag continues to post. Tick tock, tick tock. Shouldn't be much longer until this fishwrapper goes the way of the Model T.

Just a tentacle of the 'state-run media' with late sports, brink. Smart money knows where to get the real news but this will be around for a while for laughs.

Sad, but I agree with the prognosis for philly.com. The city deserves a competent, well run, technologically savvy news website. We deserve our own New York Times but that'll never happen under this management company. Best to just start fresh and new and completely electric.

The lawyer is smart. That's why this murderer is paying him so much money. The lawyer knows the jury is composed of 8 African Americans and 4 Caucasians. The murderer is on trial for his life. So if his white lawyer plays the race card, all he needs is to sway one out of twelve of whom eight are non-white. It's a no brainer. Gosnell will skate because of his smart white lawyer to whom he's paid a lot of blood money. Hey, racism rocks babe! Right here in River City...

I don't think race has anything to do with this case. He performed abortions. The women who went to his office knew exactly what they were doing. Now all the blame is on him. Abortion is something you can never take back. You do have choices. He may or may not get off but that is up to the jury black or white.
