Check out this release from the local chapter of Americans for Democratic Action:

PHILLY ADA RECEIVES COMMITMENTS FROM THREE CANDIDATES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ADA CANDIDATE QUESTIONNAIRE, A DEBATE AMONG THE CANDIDATES FOR DISTRICT ATTORNEY

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of Americans for Democratic Action is proud to announce that Seth Williams, Dan McElhatton and Michael Turner have each agreed to participate in the ADA Candidate Questionnaire, a debate among the candidates for Philadelphia District Attorney.

All additional candidates for district attorney will be invited to participate in the ADA's first-ever, live "Candidate Questionnaire." The debate will take place on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at the First Unitarian Church, 2125 Chestnut Street from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

To educate our membership about candidates and issues, the Philly ADA typically issues written questionnaires to candidates for office to determine their stance on various issues important to our members. Because of the stature of the district attorney's race, the Philly ADA has chosen to forego its written questionnaires and instead hold a live debate. The candidates will be asked to address the issues that would have previously formed the basis of our written questionnaire.

In the coming weeks, the Philly ADA will be soliciting input from its membership regarding what issues and questions should be addressed to the candidates. Based on the our membership existing interests, we expect the issues of local prison overcrowding and alternate approaches to pre-trial and post-trial detention to form the basis of the debate subjects.

UPDATE: Make that four candidates. Brian Grady, a criminal defense error at Grady and Falcione, tells us that he too will participate.
