Sen. Casey Urges HUD To Fully Review Harassment Allegations Against Greene

POSTED: Friday, August 27, 2010, 12:27 PM

U.S. Sen. Bob Casey has waded into the scandal surrounding Philadelphia Housing Authority Executive Director Carl R. Greene. Casey today sent a letter to Shaun Donovan, secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, commending the agency for launching a review of PHA's finances and management.

You can read the letter here.

"The allegations at issue here are serious and should be fully investigated," Casey writes. "The public should be assured that federal funding allocated to PHA has been spent appropriatrly."

Casey also asks Donovan to probe the sexual harassment allegations against Greene, noting that he thinks such actions are fireable offenses. Casey says that if there is any amiguity in the federal laws governing housing authorites on that issue, he will address it with legislation.

If there's "amiguity" in the law, it's too late to address it with legislation in Greene's case.

all these politicians are great at asking for investigations. only problem is it is too little too late. how about addressing the problem prior to the situation getting to this. NEVER.
