Poll: What should Greene do?

POSTED: Thursday, August 19, 2010, 10:34 AM

What should Carl Greene do? Do you think Greene:
has the right to take some time off to get his affairs in order.
must immediately address what’s going on in a public forum.
should just resign.

Philadelphia Housing Authority Executive Director Carl R. Greene yesterday announced he was taking a leave of absence after stories broke about his unpaid mortgage and sexual harassment complaints by former employees. He said he’ll be back in several weeks.

PhillyClout wants to know what you think of the situation. Please take our poll.

There are more women likely to come forward because this has been his reputation at every job he has had . He made almost all of his female subordinates at PHA uncomfortable , and a couple escaped probably only because he is handicapped .

@ Joe, please provide a link to an article, book, video in which Green or Rangel used discussed race in connection with their legal problems. That's the great thing about racism, one can make up any lie and others believe it. Btw, is Fumo or Mariano (sp: the former city council person) less of a criminal because they are white?

He has no right to take a leave. if he can't do his job he should lose it. What a waste of taxpayers money.

Power corrupts and is colorblind. But its ashame that blacks who fought so hard to get into these positions are taking the same advantages that whites took for years. Greed and ego both stink. Get these bums out now.

@luv to comment**When U got the job in pha that included (projects) and jobs consist of overtime aka (doubles), did u think for one moment that u would not have to stay late just because u took a job that consists of working in the pj's? I would have known that it might be that chance so why did u take such a job??? NO WOMAN DESERVES TO BE TREATED THE WAY (U) say you were treated, but every woman deserves to be treated the way that I was when I was in his company. It just seems that here everyone comes soon as he missed a few house payments. He's not beyond stress. You know whats funny, I gave up a nice salary one time because of the stress that I had to endure and I kept sayin thank u lord on my way home. Now I make less $ but Im less stressed to hell with Gucci, I'll shop at Target and my daughters can work P/T while in college. I WOULD NEVA EVA LET NOBODY TREAT ME LIKE THAT. I DONT CARE WHO THEY R. god saw everything soooo

Godbless, people are hired at PHA with all types of educational backgrounds for various jobs. An engineer may work in engineering and an accountant in finance. People are often hired for very specific positions and no, do not expect to be transferred to work at sites. Should a doctor ever scrub floors or the janitorial supervisor ever perform surgery? Should they not be surprised if they were ever made to do so? Your rant did not make much sense.

@Loves To Comment: You could not be any more wrong. I was hired as an engineer out of college to work there. I was told I would be working in the main offices doing audit reports and actual process improvement type tasks. On my first day of work they dropped me off at a site and gave me a 1/2 day of training and it was then my responsibility to be in charge of the maintenance for 3 housing complexes. I was then also not given the title of what I was doing, so they could pay me less money. This was done to every other young engineer that was in the same position as me. We were the whipping boys for maintenance at PHA. But all Greene bragged about was that he was hiring all these 'young engineers out of college during rough times'. However most of us moved from around the USA to take this job only to be thrown into an underpaid, dangerous job. None of us had any experience in maintenance, let alone the horrible residents we had to deal with every day. A year later, some of us finally found new and better jobs where we don't have to question if we are actually going to make it back home every night...

I hope that the press keeps digging into Carl's life. This is only the tip of the iceberg!! There are many more skeletons in his closet that he is trying to hide. He has humiliated and embarassed many PHA employees! Well now it is your turn Carl, you worthless piece of trash!
