Santorum

A Quinnipiac University Poll released this morning shows former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum leading the GOP presidential primary field in his former home state of Pennsylvania and in a statistical tie with President Obama if they meet in the November general election.

Thirty-six percent of the registered Republicans polled in Pennsylvania support Santorum in the primary while former Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney took 22 percent, U.S. Rep. Ron Paul took 12 percent and former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich (who was born in Harrisburg) took 8 percent.  Eighteen percent of those polled -- a strong third place -- said they don't know who they will vote for in the primary.

If the Republican primary was a two-man race, Santorum would lead Romney in Pennsylvania 52-32 percent.

In head-to-head match-up with Obama in November, the Republicans polled had the president ahead 45-44 percent on Santorum, a statistical tie.  Obama leads Romney 46-40 percent, leads Paul by 45-40 and leads Gingrich 50-37 percent.

"Pennsylvania Republicans are turning to their native son, former Sen. Rick Santorum. The last time we surveyed the Keystone State, during the Gingrich boomlet in December, the former House Speaker led the GOP pack with 31 percent, followed by Gov. Mitt Romney with 17 percent and Santorum with 9 percent," Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute, said in a news release put out with the poll.

MikeBrooks806 Too bad more people who voted for Obama do not wake up and discover the big mistake they made. I commend you for your courage to admit you made a mistake by voting for Obama, the fraud. My last 3 years also have been nothing to write home about. I am on a fixed income and my buying power keeps going down, down, down. I just wish others would vote for the best candidate rather than voting because of political party or race. Yes many people voted for Obama because of his race. Don't let anyone tell you differently. We cannot stand another 4 year of this clown being in office. All he does is spend, spend and spend some more raising our national debt so high our country will eventually be owned by China.

He's a liar because he campaigned heavily to limit medical malpractice claims when he and his wife were in the midst of settling her malpractice claim. He's liar because he didn't have the integrity to admit he said black when he referred to giving "blah" people welfare money. He's insane because
he keeps a miscarried fetus in a jar on his desk and made
his young children pose in a picture with the miscarried
fetus. He's insane with his bible beating rhetoric and his
opinions on contraception. I can go on all day.

I know all politicians lie to some degree and misrepresent the positions of their opponents, but it especially irks me when a politician who wraps himself in the Bible does these things. What would Jesus say about lying in order to get elected?

I'm making way too much money in the stock market. We need to get a Republican in the White House so I can go back to losing money again. Who's with me?

All you "anyone but Obama people", you don't deserve to benefit when in the future you lose your job and you're able to get reasonable health insurance despite having an expensive pre-existing condition. We elect Congressmen and the president to solve problems and that is what he and the Dems tried to do when it comes to the outrageous acts of the health insurance industry. Sure the law may not be perfect, buy many are already benefiting from it. If you want to elect do-nothing-to-solve-problems Republicans again, go for it.

He was voted out of office but look what we got in his place. Casey hasn't done a thing in the six years he's been in Washington. Oh he's signed some cardboard checks and makes appearance in Scranton but he's given in to the Obama influenced Senate and given him Almost everything he's asked for.

I like him better then Romney and Gingrich. I don't agree with all of his social beliefs, but then again I don't think he's going to try to make laws based on them. Nor would they pass if he did so who cares if he thinks it's best for children if the mother stays at home. He can't make it a law or anything.

There were good reasons to get rid of santorum when he was a senator. Any woman who votes for him is not paying attention. I mean, really. This guy opposes contraception.

And the Conservative Republican candidates took every chance to bash Romney. (In the words of FoxNews....let's keep it fair and balanced).
