Pharma Company Expanding into Northeast Philly

Schwartz Helps Create Over 200 Jobs in Northeast Philadelphia

 On Thursday, October 28th, U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz will announce that Teva Pharmaceuticals USA will expand its operations in her district, creating 200 jobs and investing nearly $300 million into Northeast Philadelphia’s economy. Schwartz was instrumental in working with city and state officials and Teva representatives to ensure that this global pharmaceutical company will expand in her district, bringing real economic growth to the area and creating or retaining more than 400 jobs.

Teva Pharmaceuticals USA will acquire a 140-acre parcel on Red Lion Road in Philadelphia and build a state-of-the-art distribution facility. The facility, which will consist of three buildings totaling approximately 1.2 million square feet, will support all of Teva’s warehousing and distribution needs in the United States. The $295M project will create over 200 jobs within three years and retain over 200 existing positions.

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. is a global pharmaceutical company, based in Israel, which specializes in the development, production and marketing of generic and proprietary branded pharmaceuticals as well as active pharmaceutical ingredients. Teva is among the top 11 pharmaceutical companies and among the largest generic pharmaceutical companies in the world.
