From Chris down at Citizens Bank Park:
Chase Utley stepped up to the mike and said: "World champions. World f------ champions!"
Mayor Nutter said the crowd estimate is about 2 million but the city is reviewing video and aerial photos and may revise.
In South Philadelphia, Nutter saw a guy holding a sign that said "I'm being joyous, not a jackass," referencing Nutter's message from yesterday.
"We made eye contact," Nutter said. "I pointed. He smiled."

Chase is a moron! Anthony1957
If Mayor Nutter can say "jacka**" why can't Utley drop an F bomb? People get too up in arms over silly words. gotwestbrook- It's a word, folks. Other cities have major riots and severe injuries. We have the "F" word. Even when we win, Philadelphia has to find the negative. And Anthony, if there are any morons out and about, you should count yourself among them...
The three phillies from california, dressed in black, cheered the most demonstrably for Utley's vulgarity with families present. The greatest part of this tragedy is Utley insulting Brad Lidge, the "perfect closer," who fell to his knees immediately after winning, looking heavenward thanking g-d for victory and thanking jesus christ on national television. We can only pray that he was drunk and will eventually apologize and repent with remorse. May G-d help him and California! kleinsangels
people, you have to relax. It was totally philly and it was a perfect speech for a perfect day. MAUI1
i don't get how utley's profanity is an insult to lidge. the f-word isn't sacrilege, tasteless though it may be. PYW

It was totally classless. There were lots of kids present, including those of his teammates. No need for it at all. It was insulting and showed an amazing lack of respect for the fans and the team. Everyone else on the team was able to convey their emotions about this incredible moment using intelligent meaningful words. Chase sounded like he was at a drunken frat-house party. Very inappropriate. pafam4
