Mayor Nutter was asked this morning if he thought Major League Baseball made the right call last night -- waiting until the 6th inning to suspend the game, despite driving rain.

"I think it's pretty clear, as everyone knows, that this is in the sole discretion of Commissioner Bud Selig and Major League Baseball," Nutter said to reporters at City Hall.

And Nutter doesn't think the suspended game can be blamed on a curse or viewed as a bad omen.

"I think we just need to get over ourselves a little bit," he said. "So far the Gods have smiled pretty lovingly on us -- we're up 3-1."

Even though I'm 3K miles away - i got to hang out with about 200 Phillies Phans in our Philly bar- Kezar Pub in San Francisco. We all felt that the game should have been called in the beginning of the 6th. We are ready to book a charter flight to come in and RIOT until they reverse the decision and begin play at the top of the 6th . Phills 2 - Devil Rays 1. End of Story ! Come on Philly people, stand up for what's right ! Of course if we all spend $$$$$ coming in to our City then we should at least get standing room tickets !
