Nutter Tees Off on Bill Green In Tribune Story

Check out this story in today's Philadelphia Tribune about the relationship between Mayor Nutter and City Councilman Bill Green. While the tension between the two has been written about before, Nutter does seem to let loose more in this article. Here are a couple of his quotes:

“He seems to have a theory that — if you look at the history of John Street, who antagonized his daddy (Mayor William Green Sr.) and antagonized Mayor (W. Wilson) Goode (Sr.) and then didn’t antagonize Ed Rendell because they had a deal — and then if you look at my history, which was maybe somewhat antagonistic from time to time with Mayor Rendell and seemingly very antagonistic with Mayor Street, that’s the way to become mayor is to antagonize mayors,” he said.

“John Street worked his ass off and had a record,” Nutter said. “I worked my ass off and I had a record. He doesn’t — on either. You have to produce. He has an insatiable need for attention.”

Don't you know Green has a sense of entitlement. His daddy and granddaddy have given him this legacy. What a ham! Get a real job Green and stop eating from the public trough.

Didn't Councilman Green pass legislation to abolish the BRT, stop Nutter's property tax increase, and keep the libraries open this past year? What did Nutter produce since he became Mayor other than doom, gloom, and indecision? I think Mayor Nutter needs to grow up, quit whining, and start leading the city--without Congressman Brady constantly looking over his shoulder. It seems like Brady's done a better job as Mayor lately than Nutter has.

Bob Brady always makes sure the machine and the unions get as much of what they want as possible. They all know it, so they cry and whine until Brady shows up to give them what they want. If that's what you think the mayor's job is then, yes, Brady's doing a better job of it so far than Nutter.

Did Mayor Nutter know he was being quoted here? Can you really believe the Philadelphia Tribune? Would love to hear the tape of this one if there is one.

Bill Green has no record? what am i missing? he is the only memeber of Council constantly pushing legislation that has any meaning to the average Philadelphian. PHL 87 names only a few but the reality is that Green is the only person out there fighting for us against this moron Nutter. he is a threat to Nutter's re-election and he knows it. That's the real reason Nutter wants to bring him down. Nutter's been a failure at everything in his life except criticizing Mayor Street. The reason Green is the star of Council is because he is the only member who actually worked in private industry and knows what success looks like. Nutter is exhibit A on why we need term limits.

They're all in it for themselves...wake up, people. There's a lot of ego involved in seeking public office.
