Nutter Dodges Questions About McNabb's Future

POSTED: Monday, January 11, 2010, 11:21 AM

At a press conference to announce a new jobs program today, Mayor Nutter declined to speculate on the future employment of Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb, who failed to lead the team past the first round of the playoffs on Saturday.

“I think that Andy Reid and Joe Banner and Jeff Lurie do a good enough job evaluating their talent,” Nutter said.

Since Saturday's loss, columnists and commentators have questioned whether it’s time for the team to look for a new QB.

Did City Council approve a takeover of the Eagles by Nutter? Otherwise, his opinion of McNabb is irrelevant.

Who cares??????? The Eagles lost because buying Vicks for the team was immoral. The Mayor needs to close a $50,000,000 budget hole, not play Ed Rendell.

Are you kidding me? Who cares what Nutter thinks about whether McNabb will be back? That's seriously the best question someone could think up to ask him?

Hey, if you had a name that was really two first names, instead of a first name and last name, you'd ask stupid questions too.

Some of you blog post dingbats need to get a life and fast. I think Icantakeit is actually the one who needs a primer on spelling. Anyway, Lucey made a blog post, not a story in the DN. There is a bit of a difference. As for Zipperhead's concern on sales tax collections, I doubt the data is available. But the rate went up one percentage point to 8 percent. That constitutes a 14 percent increase. It stays in effect for 5 years and the dough is used to repay deferrals in the next few years to the employee pension fund. By the way Zippie, the payback is at 8.5 percent interest.

Are you kidding me? Who cares what Nutter thinks about McNabb - but I give him credit for a good response to a stupid question.

This is not the newspaper, kids. Different standards apply online. That's why we are permitted to remain anonymous.

What does Nutter have to do with the Eagles? In this case if you ask a stupid question either expect a stupid answer or no answer at all. Geez, how dumb!

Catherine Lucey are you an aspiring writer who is presently working in the mail room or sweeping the break room or something? listen first: learn how to spell the first name of the eagles starting QB. second: dont write (and for god's sake dont print) nonsensical tripe about the mayor's opinions on Mcnabb's future with the Eagles like he is a team exec or something. geez where are the editors for this rag?

I didn't know Mayor Nutter was part of the Eagles organization. Are there any real journalist in the world today?
