Nutter to Establish Committee To Review City Facilities

You may recall that back in February, when businessman Tom Knox officially opted out of the mayor's race and endorsed Mayor Nutter, he was rewarded by being made the head of a task force that was going to review the use of city-owned facilities.

You may recall that back in February, when businessman Tom Knox officially opted out of the mayor's race and endorsed Mayor Nutter, he was rewarded by being made the head of a task force that was going to review the use of city-owned facilities.

Well, five months later, it looks like that task force is finally being set up. Nutter will sign an executive order to create the group tomorrow. Asked why it took so long, spokesman Mark McDonald said the city had to recruit the group and figure out the duties, in the midst of a busy spring budget season.

Better late than never, right? Here's the press release:

WHAT: Mayor Nutter will sign an executive order to create the Mayor’s Task Force of City-owned Facilities, which will create a final report and advise the Administration on obtaining the best financial terms for housing City operations in facilities.
