U.S. District Judge Ronald Buckwalter just sentenced Ruth Arnao, a longtime aide to former state Sen. Vince Fumo, to one year and one day in prison.  Arnao was convicted on federal corruption charges in March with Fumo.  Buckwalter outraged many last week when he brushed aside requests from federal prosecutors to send Fumo to prison for more than 15 years. Instead, he sentenced Fumo to 55 months in prison.

Beach House Buckwalter does it again. These waterfront properties don't just fall from the sky, you have to earn them.

Hard working journalists like yourselves, honest, paying your bills, expected to pay still more in taxes, what does a sentence like this tell you, 8 days per felony count? The judge is telling you that you must be idiots. We all must be, when we could be robbing the voters with near-impunity.

Pshew, I was worried, I tell you, that Lady Justice would be bought and sold like a street walker in Philly, but I say, no, not at the federal level.
