City Council honored Brintha Vasagar this morning, the 2008 Miss Philadelphia.  Councilman Jack Kelly, a Republican who introduced Vasagar, took note that the GOP's current vice presidential candidate is a former pageant contestant.  "Who knows?" Kelly said. "The next time you're in this chamber you might be a candidate for vice president."  Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown aimed higher, adding that Vasagar might run for president.

Not that her resume needs any help.  Vasagar, a Georgetown University graduate is now in her third year at the Ross School of Medicine in Miami, Fla.
