Friday's DN: Heartache for the holidays

POSTED: Friday, November 25, 2011, 11:14 AM

Tanisha Carter's story highlights a problem that's common in the burbs and the city: lack of affordable housing.

What will happen to the homeless who call the Ben Franklin Parkway home, once the Barnes Museum opens?

A Plymouth Meeting man spent the holiday hoping for his girlfriend to recover from a parasailing accident that injured her and killed her mother.

A mural in West Philadelphia will touch on a societal taboo: suicide.

It's Friday, so it must be Clout! time.

There is plenty of affordable housing in the Philadelphia area, what are you talking about?

@ northeaster--the definition of "affordable" varies with one's financial perspective. I have heard some of the most godawful slum properties described as "affordable." Yes, they're affordable--just not fit for human habitation.
