Fox 29 News says this photo of Councilman W. Wilson Goode Jr. and his chief legislative aide, Latrice Bryant, was taken in Jamaica in August 2005.

Fox 29 News took the whole City Councilman W. Wilson Goode Jr. and Latrice Bryant thing to a new level tonight by revealing a series of vacation photos showing the pair looking pretty romantic in Jamaica three years ago.

Bryant has been the focus of incredible media attention for the last two weeks because Fox 29 News filmed her running personal errands this summer while being paid to work in Goode's office as his chief legislative aide.  She didn't handle that very gracefully, stiff-arming a Fox 29 News camera when reporter Jeff Cole tried to interview her at Council's Sept. 18 session and then holding up a series of hand-drawn signs that said "Fox 29 are racists" and "Jeff Cole KKK."

Pictures of that mess, which Bryant sort of apologized for on Sunday, have been zapping to and fro on the Internet for two weeks.  We here at PhillyClout have a feeling that some new photos might make the rounds as well.  Fox 29 News has a slide show of 14 candid snaps of Goode and Bryant looking very romantic in a tropical get-away.  Fox says the photos were taken at the Grand Lido Resort & Spa in August of 2005.

Nothing about that violates city rules - that we know of - on how Council members deal with employees.  But it was just a week ago that Goode told PhillyClout that he wasn't romantically linked with Bryant.  "Is there a social relationship? Yes," Goode said. "Is there a romantic relationship?  No."

Out of all the things going on in the world right now, this should not be getting all my attention BUT this story makes me absolutely livid. My tax dollars are paying for Goode's mistress. Disgusting. Mayor Nutter, please look into this. The $90,000 this woman is getting paid could be put to much better use elsewhere. And they had to gall to throw in the race card. Absolutely disgusting.

Goode, you fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: Never p*ss off an investigative reporter when you've got skeletons in your closet!

This is what you get when you hand over Democracy to a handful of people. Whoever the local political machine backs in the primary gets elected. There are no competative races in Philadelphia. I don't even know why people bother to vote. When you allow a handful of local power brokers pick your representatives and they have no competition, you end up with mediocre, pathetic representatives like Goode. He's a racist bozo. "Don't disrespect a black woman?" he says. I think he's disrespected every person living in his district. Arrogant, dishonest, and stupid. Just the qualities we need in a representitive. Is it a stretch to say we can do better than this guy?
