Former Police Commissioner Appears At Biden Event

PhillyClout spent the morning standing in a very long line with former Police Commissioner John Timoney, waiting to hear Vice President Joe Biden speak to the annual fundraiser for the Committee of 70.

We wondered what if anything it meant to find Timoney, who recently resigned as police commissioner in Miami, back in town.

"Read absolutely nothing into it," Timoney said with a chuckle. "I just happened to be in town and got invited."

Timoney described Biden as a good friend, saying he talked the VP into holding a press conference in Miami to stump for the stimulus package.

"He brought one of those big checks," Timoney said. "That's the best kind of press conference."
