District Attorney Lynn Abraham said today that she's interested in running for U.S. Senate as a Democrat in 2010 if television host Chris Matthews decides not to run.
CBS-3 reports that Abraham made the remarks at a press conference today. Check out their report here.
Matthews, who hosts Hardball on MSNBC, is rumored to be considering a run for the senate seat, currently held by Republican Arlen Specter.

OH lordy, Lynne you old hag, just freaking retire already. anon
anon - very clever comment. don't you feel so much superior now? in my experience Lynne is a tireless worker with a keen intellect. Phillyguy4413
In my experience the DA's office has failed to prosecute a third of the gun charges, frequently on repeat offenders, while on her watch. Adam Lang
Mr. Lang: Sure, you could prosecute every case that has charges brought, but a smart DA is not going to waste time, or our money, pursuing a case that can't be won. If the Police don't provide the evidence, what's the point? The objective is still to get a conviction. Obviously, you've never watched "Law & Order" or any of the other procedurals that have dominated television for the last 15 or 20 years. Bush/Cheney notwithstanding, we remain a country of laws. clarktacular
This is an early April fools joke I hope. joseph bonsted

if not specter, then it should be someone younger, so that they can get some seniority sooner rather than later. lynne has served well but she should retire and chris matthews other than host of a poplar tv show what is his background, does anyone know? southstreet
southstreet, Chrissy's background is that he once worked for Jimmy Carter... 'nuff said. MiddleNameHussein- I agree, I rather have Specter or somebody else. She is part of the machine and also very creepy. EL Zorro
