Council chambers heat up pre-budget address

Things are heating up in Council chambers this morning in advance of the Mayor's budget address.

Members of District Council 33 have filed in to the balcony where they are chanting "No Contract, No Peace." The city's blue collar union has been working without a contract since July 2009 and the two sides have made little progress towards a new deal.

Meanwhile, the mayor's cabinet is starting to show up, along with Council members and independent elected officials. Former Mayor John Street got a standing cheer as he came into the balcony.
