So it's a slow day here in City Hall, but the administration's eyes are definitely on Harrisburg where the state budget war is waging. The city has asked state lawmakers to approve two local budget moves to deal with a budget gap -- a temporary sales tax hike and some changes to how the city pays into the pension fund -- but won't know for sure if they'll get the approvals until the state process is complete. Without this help, the mayor has said drastic cuts and layoffs will happen.

Meanwhile state lawmakers are fighting over how to solve their own budget gap. Here's the latest on the state budget situation from the Harrisburg Patriot-News.
