City Announces Dell Lineup

Mayor Nutter just announced the acts set to play at the Robin Hood Dell concert venue this summer. The performers include Heads of State, the Whisperers and Brian McKnight. Nutter didn't announce the headlining act for the first show.

The Fairmount Park Concert venue will open on July 12 for an eight show season in July, after being closed for two years due to repairs.

The Dell was closed before the start of the 2008 concert series because a broken drainage system sent storm water under half the seating area. That destabilized the foundation, causing dangerous gaps in the concrete.

The city budgeted $5.5 million for repairs, including contributions of $250,000 each from capital money designated for the offices of Council members Marian Tasco, Curtis Jones Jr., Jannie Blackwell, Donna Reed Miller and Darrell Clarke.
