City Council blasts Mitt Romney after 47 percent speech

POSTED: Thursday, September 20, 2012, 1:45 PM

Days after Mitt Romney’s 47 percent speech surfaced, City Council today let the Republican presidential nominee have it.

Pulling a quote from former late Texas governor Ann Richards about former president George H.W. Bush, Councilwoman Marian Tasco said, “Mitt Romney was born with a silver foot in his mouth. He has no idea about what’s happening in this country.”

Then Councilwoman Maria Quinones-Sanchez said “Mitt Romney said, it would be better if he was Mexican… Thank you but no thank you.”

In closing, Councilman Bill Green said “I would like to ask my colleagues to stop discussing Barack Obama’s secret weapon in this campaign and that is Mitt Romney, who only opens his mouth to put in the other foot.”

Councilman Curtis Jones Jr. whose comments about Romney prompted other members to speak about him at the close of Council's session, reminded the public about the “Be the Vote,” block party on Sept. 27 at the Sheppard Recreation Center from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. where he said transportation will be provided to  “those 47 percent of the vote” so that they can get their Voter IDs.

So what part about the completed statement; "because I actually believe in redistribution, at least at a certain level to make sure that everybody’s got a shot" makes you not believe he's in favor of taking one man or woman's money and giving it to someone else? And he has the right to do that???

Well clearly Philadelphia is perfect and our finances are in complete order. No crime either! Wait, that's not true about our city? Oh, forgive me for thinking the City Council had fixed all of Philadelphia's problems considering they are wasting time talking about Mitt Romney.

This from a group who steals every dime they can grab from the few remaining taxpayers everyday. They are so dumb that they probably think that the Inky is a real newspaper with real reporters, and not just the Party's mouthpiece.

I guess the City Council members are part of the 47% since they will receive their Gov't subsidy in the form of DROP payments....

It is only because the "secret" video went viral that we now have a glimpse of the man behind the wooden smile. Finally, the real Romney has emerged. This is what voters have been waiting for. Mr. Romney, out of robotic mode, speaking from the heart.

For the first time, we hear this man speaking confidently, eloquently, because he is saying what he believes. Comfortable because he is with his own kind, speaking his mind.

In public, the stress of concealment, never possible entirely to hide, reveals itself in Mr. Romney's breathless jerky voice, the uncomfortable laugh, the unfocused eyes, the awkward body movements--as his body literally rebels against the lies he is telling.

We had thought he was just a candidate uncomfortable with oratory.
No, he is a man hiding from the wider public his true beliefs.

Yes, Mr. Romney has finally revealed what he believes.
    And that is the problem.

Either your brain dead or have your head in the sand, if you haven't seen the Democrats philosophy at work here in Philadelphia. I'll take Romney any day over the eggheads in City Council.

Romney isn't running for City Council. He's running for President to benefit the 2% and his mentality, beliefs, and statements reveals that he will repeat the traditional Republican tactic of pitting the upper middle class and middle classs against low income seniors, troops, working poor, and lower middle class while he and the 2% can continue to run to the bank laughing with continued redistribution of the nation's wealth to the 2%.
