Nutter To Endorse Sanchez in the 7th Tonight?

Looks like Nutter is gearing up to endorse Councilwoman Maria Quinones Sanchez for re-election in the 7th District, where she's locked in a tight battle with former Councilman Dan Savage.

Nutter has already backed candidates in the four open Council races, so it looks like this would round out his slate. Here's the message Sanchez put out today:

Dear Friends,

Please join me tonight at 6pm for an important campaign announcement at Bethel Temple Community Bible Church (228 E. Allegheny Ave). Special guests include:

Michael A. Nutter, Mayor, City of Philadelphia

Chaka Fattah, Congressman, 2nd District of Pennsylvania

Dwight Evans, Representative, 203rd Legislative District

It would be a pleasure to see all of your smiling faces at this exciting event!

Also, the May 17th primary election is quickly approaching and we need more help than ever. Thank you to all who have contributed so much to the campaign already. We appreciate your support and hope you will continue to stay involved. Please visit maria2011.com for campaign updates, to donate and to volunteer. Please forward this message to friends, family and neighbors and help get our message out to the voters of the 7th District.

Let’s keep the 7th District and Philadelphia moving forward.
