The Christie camp is refuting a report last night from CBS News - and mentioned here on Philly.com by Tom Fitzgerald - that Gov. Christie has told Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels that he will endorse him if he runs for president.
Calling it "entirely premature," and "speculation," Christie's top political strategist, Mike DuHaime, said this morning that the gov "has not made a decision about who he would endorse."
We know that Christie likes Daniels and his budget-cutting ways, and we know that Christie figures to be a serious kingmaker in the GOP race for the nomination. But the report - based on anonymous sources, without any context as to where the sources are from - made me skeptical. Christie will likely hold his cards on this matter for a while longer.
"Anonymous sources?" How about democrat party cyber jockeys trying to stir the pot? Has any previous second year governor, in his first term of office, EVER received this much national attention? lefty
Why does the national media love this guy? They never tell you that the two most recent polls in April show him with a 38% approval (Survey USA Poll) in his own state! 56% disapprove of the job he is doing. Why does no one in the national media reprot that? Instead they fall over themselves for him. Amazing. matty177
matty177, Is it 38% or the 44% you posted on a similar board this morning? Did it change that much in only nine hours between posts? lefty
I said two polls didn't I? It's funny that you don't ever reference the fact that he is incredbily unpopular in spite of the media love. Also, I guess you loved that 78 million dollar bailout for the AC casino. That is our tax dollars being used up. But, it is all the police, firefighter and teachers fault for the state being broke. Right? You kool aid drinkers never cease to amaze me. matty177
lefty, Here are a few facts for you:
Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie, beloved by some and despised by others for his bluntness, has a Minus 18 job approval today as speculation continues about whether Christie should run for President. 38% of NJ adults approve of the job Christie is doing, 56% disapprove.
According to this latest Eyewitness News Poll conducted by SurveyUSA exclusively for WABC-TV in New York City, NJ voters by 5:1 say Christie should not run for President.
• By 2:1, NJ voters say Christie would be a worse president than Barack Obama.
• Obama carried NJ in 2008 by 15 points. Obama's approval rating in NJ today is Plus 14 (54% approve, 40% disapprove).
• Voters split evenly on whether Christie would be better president than George W. Bush.

matty177, Take a deep breath and exhale gradually. Chris Christie will not only win reelection, he will do it with the highest percentage ever afforded a second term gubernatorial candidate in NJ's history. Regardless of what you, your namesake, Kid Chronicler, Matty Katz, and the rest of Christie distractors attempt to establish, none of you will succeed in undoing history. "So let it be written; so let it be done!" lefty
