Authorities are seeking the public's assistance to identify the person who allegedly robbed a Kennett Square bank today.

The Pennsylvania State Police and the FBI said a man entered the National Penn Bank branch at 900 E. Baltimore Pike in Kennett Square about noon today and presented a demand note to a teller. The man said that he was armed with a gun, but no weapon was displayed. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled in an unknown direction.

The subject is described as a white or Hispanic male in his late 30s to early 40s, between 5'8" and 6'0" tall, medium to heavy build, with a large oval birthmark on his right cheek and a tattoo on the left side of his neck. He was wearing a dark winter cap, sunglasses, gloves, a dark hooded sweatshirt over a turtleneck or other type of sweatshirt, and black sneakers with white soles.

Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.  Anyone with information is asked to call the Pennsylvania State Police Avondale barracks at 610-268-2022 or the FBI at 215-418-4000.
