A  68-year-old Downingtown man yesterday gave a female library patron  unwelcome information not likely to be found in any tomes comprising the library's collection, police said today.

West Whiteland Township Police said Paul J. Palla was arrested yesterday afternoon at 1:30 after exposing himself inside the Chester County Library, 450 Exton Square Parkway, near the Exton Square Mall.

Police said a female patron told library staffers that she was seated in a reading area when a man sat down in a chair across from her.  She noticed he was fidgeting with his trousers and when  she looked up, she saw his exposed genitalia.  Staff members called police and the victim identified the suspect when officers arrived, police said.  Palla was taken into custody, booked on charges of  indecent exposure and disorderly conduct, and released to await a summons from the Exton District Court, police said.
